LEADERSHIP
Finity Engineering was established in 2020 by Khalid Sorensen, Ph.D. after a successful career of developing and deploying world-class motion-control technologies across diverse industries. Many of these industry-recognized technologies were key drivers in the acquisition of his first startup - a robotics and automation company - 5 years after inception by a global leader in automation.
Dr. Sorensen also served as CTO at PAR Systems, a world-class supplier of large-scale automation, advanced manufacturing, and nuclear handling solutions. Dr. Sorensen’s responsibilities included providing technical oversight for critical projects; identifying and mitigating areas of high technical risk; leading in the creation of cutting-edge control, automation, and robotic technologies; directing R&D efforts; and disseminating and facilitating the use of best-practice engineering methodologies.
In addition to his primary role of CTO at Finity Engineering, Dr. Sorensen is presently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He teaches various engineering topics such as Dynamics, Controls, Mechatronics, and Design Methodology.
